The first time I saw the Hollywood Sign in-person I almost fainted from excitement. I was on the 101 and very far away. Getting to the Hollywood Sign is no small feat, but it’s totally worth it.
The Hollywood Sign is generally on everyone’s to-do list and for a good reason – mainly because it’s just plain cool.
What to Wear
I’m always going to suggest safety over fashion, well, unless you’re making a statement in which case the rule is to always wear heels.
No matter which way you find yourself to the Hollywood sign, it’s a pretty moderate hike. I recommend bringing lots of water and a snack with you. You’ll need to protect your ankles, so hiking boots are best but tennis shoes will also do the trick.
Where to Park
I love hiking to the Hollywood Sign via the Wisdom Tree, especially at sunset. To do this, park on Lake Hollywood Drive or Wonder Drive. Once you park, you’ll need to walk up to the trailhead.
You can also access the Hollywood Sign hike through Bronson Canyon or Griffith Park.
