It’s fire season, literally.
As the temperatures get warmer and the forests get drier, it just takes one spark to start a fire that can spread miles and miles. Here’s what to do if a wildfire erupts near you:
-
Stay calm & keep track of fires around you
-
Whenever possible, reduce smoke exposure.
-
Close and roll up all windows, cover up vents and cover yourself. If a fire is near you, lay on the floor of your house or your car.
-
Call 911 and make it easy for firefighters to find you. Leave doors unlocked.
-
Find clear vegetation.
-
Keep your family together.
