It’s spring and you know what that means – it’s Aries season!

Aries season is my favorite – not just because it’s my birthday – but because it’s the season of action. It’s still the beginning of the year where there is enough optimism to start over. Yet, it’s long enough in the year where you can assess how the first quarter went, accurately navigate how you’d like the rest of the year to go, and you have enough momentum to , dare I say, go harder?

Yes, I did say that.

Because it’s Aries season, baby.

And that means you can do anything!

Now, taking action and leveling up also means that you need to focus your energy. We’re affected by our surroundings, including the people we spend time with, the clothes we wear, and our living environment. Spring is the perfect time for that. Personally, I’m more of a hoarder, which means that I still own clothes from high school. I also have books, letters and gifts from people that I no longer spend time with. It’s not the healthiest habit, so I’ve been extra mindful to go minimal and remove things from my life that no longer serve me.

Here are my favorite tips to begin spring cleaning. Let me know what I missed so I can add them!

1. Assess what you have

As an Aries baby, I thrive in chaos. When I clean out my apartment, I do it all at once. Now, you don’t have to throw everything from your closets into the middle of your apartment and go through it one-by-one. You can section it off by room or by type of thing. Review what you have, ask yourself when the last time was that you used it and create piles of what you’re going to keep and what you’re going to remove.

Life hack: Hang your clothing hanger the wrong way so that you can clearly see what clothes you wear and which ones stay that way for a long time! Works every time.

2. Look at the expiration dates!

Don’t just do a sweep and go. Clean out your fridge, freezer, and especially your spice cabinet! I know it’s easy to tell yourself that “it’s not so bad,” but trust me, it is. Go into your fridge, clean it out and review everything you put back in. I’m not going to lie, I found yogurts in the back of my fridge from six months ago. The worst part? I ate one just last week!

Expiration dates also go for the people in your life. How fulfilled do you feel about the friendships you hold? Can you elevate yourself or anything in your life? You don’t have to cut people off to level up. Sometimes it just takes the consciousness of what you want and don’t want in your life to manifest it. And, if you still allow people in your life that don’t make you feel good about yourself, well, that’s on you.

3. Create guiding principles for your life!

Spring cleaning is not complete unless you assess your life and how it’s going. Are you happy? Are you upset about anything? Reflect on your relationship with yourself. Do you feel fulfilled? If any of these could be improved, how do you plan on making them better?

Personally, I started creating guiding principles that help ground myself in everything that I do. Part of the principles include being supportive, being kind and respecting my boundaries and values. By using these guidelines, I’m able to design the life I want and feel good about where I’m at.

This works wonders for anxious people who tend to doubt themselves most of the time.

4. Change up your scenery.

I get it, change is hard. Want to know what’s harder? Staying in the same place. Now is your time to try something new, to begin again and to take a chance. Move if you can. Go on vacation. Ask that person on a date. Who cares if it fails! You’ll get up again and you’ll get better with time.

5. Ask for help.

Your belongings deserve to be with trusted people and businesses. Hire Big Deahl’s Movers for help with any little and big tasks, especially when it comes to your creative projects like musical instruments. The Rancho Cucamonga long distance moving company can help you coordinate last minute details and big moves that require the final touch of detail.

The best things you can do for yourself is ask for help. Calling your friends, family or a trusted moving company might just save you a big headache and allow you to take a big leap into that next passion project.

Trust me, you got this.

And if you don’t, Taurus season will be there to catch you.. 🙂
