I don’t.
I never liked the saying, “If it’s important to you, you’ll prioritize it.”
If anything, I generally found the quote discouraging for individuals who are forced to work multiple jobs to feed themselves, pay for school or pay for the programs required to fulfill their work duties and passions.
After all, when you have multiple jobs, how can you prioritize your future self when you’re exhausted from paying your bills and not being able to afford anything? At this stage, you’re probably in the process of “making it” and can’t necessarily get above the water to shift priorities around.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m a strong advocate in changing your current situation to achieve your best self. To become her, something in your life has to change. What I’m cautious of is the progress society dictates individuals to make. When you have Instagram influencers telling you that you need to share eight Tik Tok videos a day, send three emails a week and host multiple lives a week, it’s easy to feel inadequate and defeated.
It’s physically and mentally impossible.
Well, at least for a long-time strategy.
So, don’t do it all.
You are worthy of achieving everything you’ve ever dreamt of. Everything you’ve ever visualized, you can create with no hesitation. In order to make those things come to fruition, I encourage you to be mindful of how to achieve those goals and find balance. This is a marathon, not a sprint.
Take note of your goals and plan everything out with key milestones, an idea for how long it would take you and the progress you hope to achieve during this time. Then, work those moments into your life to prioritize – just not all at once.
You can do it, I promise.
Success isn’t easy. It’s a long road of making strategic decisions, being consistent about how you show up in the world and continuing to build brick-by-brick.
You can’t do it all at once.
But you can do it all, in time.
