Located a little further to the east of Los Angeles, you can find the cutest little hike with a beautiful tower and bridge. Called Mount Rubidoux, the dubbed “Peace Tower” sits at the top of Riverside and is meant to be a direct replica of the Alcántara Bridge in Spain.
The mountain is an extremely popular hiking destination, likely due to its easy trails, various elevations and levels of difficulty. It’s very well maintained and easy to find, well, as long as you don’t get lost. Fear not, the neighboring community is incredibly friendly with lots of book exchanges and dog-friendly activities.
Where to Park
Ryan Bonaminio Park
You can also park right out front on the street, just make sure you review the street signs in case anything changes.
What to Wear
Most of the hike is on a paved road, which makes any workout gear fine to wear. I would bring close-toed shoes in case you’d like to explore the top of the mountain and the various inclines it offers.
Happy hiking!
