Benefits of Hiking
In LA, it’s always hiking season! Don’t miss out on these benefits the next time you venture outdoors.
Peace Tower
The mountain is an extremely popular hiking destination, likely due to its easy trails, various elevations and levels of difficulty. It’s very well maintained and easy to find, well, as long as you don’t get lost.
Weekend in Los Angeles
Los Angeles is like a hidden gem. Everyone knows how incredible everything here is but few allow themselves the adventure and fun to play in the sun and truly enjoy everything the city has to offer.
Portuguese Bend
Now, to the South side of LA! I know you probably think I favor the North/East side of LA, but the South side also has lots of trails to cherish. Portuguese Bend is located in a 399-acre park. The area is filled with lots of wildflowers and amazing views of the Pacific Ocean and Catalina Island, if you know where to look.
Culver City Stairs
All roads lead to Culver City. It’s true when they say that Culver City is in the middle of everything in LA. It’s a pretty solid place to live, especially if you like to travel around and explore different parts of LA.
Cave of Munits
Located just north of LA in Ventura/Thousand Oaks, you can find the Cave of Munits. The cave is located on the El Escorpion Trail and offers a breathtaking view to make you feel like you’re on top of the world.
Bridge To Nowhere
he Bridge to Nowhere was built in the 1930s to bridge the San Gabriel Valley and Wrightwood together. After a massive flood and a change in the landscape, the bridge was abandoned and left as an isolated tourist attraction. The 11(ish)-mile hike will take you through the San Gabriel River and up a 900-foot ascension. The trail is an absolute adventure and without much guidance, is easy to get lost in.
Bronson Canyon
You may have seen the Bronson Caves as they’ve been featured in Batman, among many other western and sci-fi movies over the years. The man-made tunnel is a Hollywood favorite and very accessible to hike or film in.
Tuna Canyon
It’s incredibly difficult to find – not because it’s off the map, but because there’s literally no service up in Topanga Canyon. In fact, it took me six separate tries to find it. Totally worth it.
